The HR department at FM Global is embarking on a three-year strategic plan to enhance its systems. Our team will play a key role in that plan and in future development. This position will be a key contributor to that plan.
A focal area for this role will center on the design and development of interfaces for HR-based systems. These include intenal, as well as external systems. The person will also be responsible for the design, development, testing (functional, unit, system), implementation, and support of business applications within FM Global''s HR Systems department. Additional responsibilities Include:
1. Translates written requirements into technical solutions and makes decisions with respect to appropriate tools and techniques to be used to solve a problem.
2. Determines the scope of tasks related to a particular project and how to most efficiently assign the work associated with these tasks, and oversees the related efforts to completion.
3. Decides how to test the functionality of a given solution, and evaluates test results to determine if the functionality meets specifications and user requirements.
4. Decides when to involve peers within the organization and/or collaborates with the next level of supervision in order to expedite achievement of results.
5. Participates in the development of future strategies and plans (including upgrades).
6. Effectively drives adaptation to rapidly changing technologies.
7. Provides effective and consistent support to our HR department and all users of HR systems.
Applicants will have client-focused skills and the ability to work effectively in a technical team environment using demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills as well as effective written and verbal communications skills. Successful candidates will also have experience and abilities in business analysis, application development, project management and experience with our SDM.
Bachelors degree, or similar experience, preferably in IT-related discipline.
3+ years designing, developing, and implementing business applications from business concept through to production
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
Self-motivated to stay current in development technologies, tools and techniques
Understands business processes in one or more functional business areas.
Knowledge of FM Global''s current/planned technological environment and the appropriate technologies, tools, and techniques used to solve business problems.
Ability to translate of requirements and models into highly effective technical processes and/or business system designs.
Ability to design and/or code procedures/programs in one or more of FM Global''s primary software environments.
Ability to estimate tasks for business application development/enhancement projects.
Project management: planning and executing projects from vision through implementation.
Motivated to stay abreast of the current technology environment and understand future technology trends.
Solid knowledge of SQL is desired
Strong interpersonal skills
Team player, but can excel at working independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including solid documentation skills) with an ability to translate technical concepts as appropriate to the level of the audience.
Ability to work self-directed and as part of a team on projects of varying size; works well on cross-functional project teams and shows commitment to tasks, projects, and to the team.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
